I'm not sure if this is the appropriate forum, but I did not see any forums geared towards buying/selling...

To make a long story short - I custom ordered a Transit, and it was delivered to the dealership this week. But, due to some unforeseen personal issues, I am not going to take possession of the Transit, and will be ordering a different vehicle from the same dealership.

The dealer was very nice, in the fact that if they can sell this custom Transit, then I will get my deposit back.

So... if there's anyone out there wanting a Transit, likes the specs on this one, and doesn't want to wait 2-4 months, then this might work out for you.

It's the 350 Dual Rear Wheel, 148" wheelbase, tallest/longest, 3.2L Diesel, Silver exterior and is pretty loaded (Leather seats, etc). Could be used for cargo, service, conversion... you name it (see the specs/details below).

It is literally brand new, still at the dealership (probably not even 1 mile on the vehicle yet - fresh off the transport). There is at least $1000 upfit allowance (maybe $1500). You would be purchasing it directly through the dealer (not from me)... so all the normal financing / warranty options are available.

Anyway, if anyone is interested, please contact me and I will put you in touch with the dealership. (I've attached a copy of the window sticker).

The van is located in Arkansas.

Dealer price = $45,767

This is one of my dealer connections in North Little Rock, AR. They get their Transits directly from the Kansas City plant via auto convoy. It was built on May 14th and already at the dealership ready to go!

Video of this Transit: http://www.covideo.com/p.php?s=2f7c0e05fb
Call Mike Webb at 501 920-4141 if interested.

If this one will not work for you, remember down the road if you order from this dealer, you will get your Transit quickly and not have the long wait for the railroad/convoy delivery.

Yes, this dealer has been great to work with. I'm sure they'll gladly work with anyone interested in this (or any other transit).

They're going to post this van for sale on the Ford dealer network and see if any other dealerships throughout the country have customers interested in this particular one.

Actually I believe that it would be fairly easy to uninstall. Removing just a few bolts, two refrigerant lines and disconnecting a couple of wire connectors in the back and you can simply lift the unit out. The refrigerant lines could be left in place but you would want to disconnect and cap them off at the engine. You would be left with a small rectangular hole in the floor but that could be permanently sealed up without too much trouble. I have noticed that some people use holes in the floor for ventilation so perhaps it's possible to repurpose it for that.

Capping the lines at the engine may be important to prevent damage.

From the BEMM:
A/C Prep-Pack Constraints
• Do not operate the A/C compressor prior to
the installation of an auxiliary unit. This will
cause oil to accumulate in the prep-pack lines
and starve the compressor of oil.

I suspect this is what you'll see the class B RV builders will start getting once Ford decides to release the swivel seats, finally. (What's holding Winnebago up)
Minus of course the rear AC and wall lining. + the eventual RV package
