I know velit is the new heater on the block but every thread so far has seemed great. I haven't seen a thread that has been updated in a bit. As temps start to drop down again, does anyone have complaints with their unit before I purchase one?
I'm curious: did you engage the Velit folks on this? Other folks have reported that they're very responsive. And this is their system and their work (unlike some systems), so maybe they can change that? 🤔I am quite incensed that the minimum temperature that can be set in thermostat mode is 60F, despite the example picture in the manual showing something like 52 degrees.
...
I've added one to all the installs I've done. Doesn't seem to cause a problem and even a little bit quieter will be appreciated by the neighbors. I think I've used that exact one on one install...Anyone add a muffler to the Velit heater to be a little nicer to neighbors?
This seems like it would fit when I measure things and looks slightly better made than the $14 ultra cheap versions.
I've gone four years on our B4L but it's going to need a combustion chamber soon/eventually - it's getting more finicky. Similar experience for us with the D2 in the Sprinter: 4-5 years with no maintenance and LOTS of use (then we sold it). I'd guess same for Velit. Not saying I doubt that they did "10-year, maintenance-free" testing... but... they didn't.What 'maintenance'? There's isn't any that I'm aware of. It just works.
In a few years might need to swap out the combustion chamber. I bought that and a few extra key spare parts now just in case things became unobtainable in the future.
Someone here built a metal box around one of the heater units - mounting it below the floor. No idea on further details... but it was done.the case of the heater is definitely not sealed (wires and main circuit board would have issues). but if you seal the heater otherwise you should be ok as long as the intake/exhaust have a way out
