I am very new to this forum. Just joined to respond to your post. You could look into this Versa Bed system from Van Wife Components (https://www.vanwifecomponents.com/store/versa-bed-system). It basically uses J-channel and 4 panels that can extend. The only modification would be the installation of the J-channel.

$2500!!! OMG. I could build out and convert half the van into a Sleep haven for that kind of money.
