So after waiting 7 weeks for the dash kits to become available again, I tackled the stereo install this weekend. Posting this for a little help and so hopefully somebody can learn from my mistakes.

My Transit: 2015 350 XLT 12-passenger van.
Factory Stereo: CD + 4.2" multi-function LCD

What I learned and questions:
1) The Reverse indicator light is a royal pain. This post has a nice pic of the harness it's in, but 2 things: 1) Nowhere could I find a diagram of which pin was what number. There were numbers on the back, but they were useless. 2) There are 5 "green with brown stripe" wires in that block. My reverse light was the fourth I tested. I don't think I did any damage, but who knows. Mine ended up being on the left side (looking from the back), 5th pin down from the top.

2) The Metra 70-5524 wiring harness is simply WRONG. I had emailed metra directly, plus read some other people's posts that all said to use this one. Maybe it works for the "radio" only factory harness, but it's not a stock replacement for people with the CD+LCD factory package. There are at least 6 misaligned or missing pins.

3) Metra's website now says "We are still working on gathering our information for this vehicle. Please check back soon!" when searching for my Transit specs, and shows the 71-5524 harness as a possible result (not the 70-5524). I'm unable to find a diagram or listing of what pins the 71-5524 has. I just ordered it anyway because it's the best lead I have on a possible solution.

4) My Ford-side harness doesn't match any single table of the BEMM. The table on page 94 is the closest, but I don't have any pins in the Microphone or SWC slots (pins 7, 8, 19, 20). I'm assuming that other lined up pins are accurate to that table, as they tend to match the features I know I have in the van. I have 2 important discrepancies, though.
Pin 4: mine is empty, BEMM says Run/Accessory
Pin 5: mine is empty, BEMM says Ignition SW Crank
Most aftermarket stereos require these. Any clues? I could probably get this thing working if I could source these 2 feeds.

I did what another member on here did and ordered two of those harnesses, popped the pins out of the extra one and installed in the first one so I basically had a pin & wire for every hole. I used the diagram I got from the motorcraft service website ($21.95 for 72 hours) to figure out the wiring. I'm almost up to the point of installing the head unit (was doing everything else first) and I will confirm the wiring is correct before I install it.

Just wanted to follow up with the resolution to my problem:

I had a PDF wiring chart that somebody had posted on here and was able to tap the Ignition and Accessory directly from the 7-pin ignition harness. Just popped off the 2-part cover on the steering column and used 2 splice taps. Working like a charm.

Did you ever find the 12 V switch power?
