As many others have I purchased a reliance water jug to use for my water system. On the 7 gallon jug I bought it has a cap with some threads on the cap where a spigot can thread into. Apparently it is well known that they like to use proprietary threads and I measured them to be M25-1.5. Ultimately I want to connect a 1/2" pex line to the jug (which I was planning on using a barbed quick connect bulk head fitting for). I'm not sure what the best option is since there is no way I'll find an off the shelf food safe adapter to go from the threads on the cap to NPT. I'm thinking about drilling out the threads and then I'll be left with a ~40mm hole which I can use some larger bulk head fitting on? I don't love that idea either. Anyone have a better suggestion?
