3D print Scuppers

I was thinking about having a right and left hand side scupper 3D printed to put in place just above the windshield, to direct rain water off to the side. This would probably eliminate over 90 % of rain water from entering the cowl. Has anyone tried this?

Starting with the 2016 model flow diverters came with the transit, They channel the water into the right and left fenders.
Mine fill up with dirt and pine pollen so they need to be cleaned at least once a year, The diverters just snap on and off of the bottom of the trough.
Maybe you can order a pair from a later model for yours.
I've got rid of those diverters and connected hoses to the drain spigots. I was just thinking about the scuppers as an added feature to reduce the amount of water and debris from getting to the cowl in the first place..

I was just thinking about doing the exact same thing.
Some people have added screens or or cut up peices of brillo pads in the past to to filter the water going in the trough, There for keeping the drains unclogged. I do not recall how well this worked for them.
My idea was more for a ramp that sits in the channel near the bottom to allow water overflow out of the channel down the sides. I just need to dig out my foot powder spray and fancy camera out of storage...
I'll have to search for my contour guage today and maybe get a prototype started to kick the water out of the channel, just above the windshield.
It will be tough making water flow up hill, The van body is higher then the trough. You have a lot of wind to work with, Maybe that will somehow drive the water up hill out of the trough.
The ecoboost engine cover is really the best idea, You can buy them for the transit 3.7 and maybe other engines.

I already have the new cover. I guess OCD is driving my thoughts.

Gypsy brewer's debris pad idea is working just fine to keep the drains unclogged and prevent flooding. I velcroed the pads down with 3M Dual Lock so I don't have to remove them each time I drive.

I don't really trust 3D printing. I doubt the durability. But if you get a successful result. Please send me a photo.
