3.5L PFDi vs 3.5L EcoBoost - mileage and reliability

I have a 2020 AWD SWB MedRoof with the 3.5 ECOBoost. Gets about 14 MPG around town and 16 MPG on highway at 70 MPH avg. Have 1500 miles on it so far. Steel shelves and tools are loaded in back. Runs well around the hills in western Pennsylvania. Drove both before I bought. I prefer the ECOBOOST. I do like having the extra get up and go. You can put it in the ECO mode from the dash selector and tone down the performance if you like. I drove a 2009 Sprinter van with the Turbo Diesel for 10 years and the new Transit is much more responsive. The sprinter was also loaded with the same shelves/tools and got around 16 MPG average...
