@UTSam as Gregory said i have had zero issues using the new 2022 supplied port. Elevation around 8000 while running the heater for 4 days at a time.
So I get this straight fo rmyself, you just connected to the end of the aux fuel port at the top? (You DID NOT thread the heater fuel line down through the aux port and into the fuel tank.)

Sounds very promising, thanks for the follow up! I'll be interested to hear how this works over time.

@UTSam Correct I just pushed the connector piece into the Auxillery port, ran my fuel line to my fuel pump and fired it up. Ran at least 100 hours now at elevation with no issues starting or staying going. That is what the fuel port was for right?
Absolutely what it's for. I've read about a bunch of issues, I'm sure you have too, with not having the proper fuel line diameter all the way to the tank. Sounds like your approach is definitely worth a shot and worst case, you have to drop the tank like you would anyway to run the heater fuel line all the way down.

Moot point I guess for me I guess until my Van gets built but but I will likely be camping at up to 10K' at least on occasion. Current Van is just a place holder and doesn't have an aux heater installed, but it's a diesel. Sounds like the diesel heaters are much less finicky and budget knockoffs are fine if I end up doing one.

Thanks again for the follow up!

Description of location

You should see that colored tab about midship looking in from the driver side. It's coming down from atop the fuel tank, which is in the middle underneath the van. If you don't see that, maybe it got tucked behind the other cables in that area.
That's exactly where mine is and what it looks like. 2023 148 Cargo.

Yes; I looked at that photo and the description as well.

The confusing part: in my VIN sticker, it said it has Auxiliary Fuel Port (no mention of "line"); and if you looked at the Ordering guide, the "Crew" van option has a "-" ?; does this mean that the "line" option is not available for Crew van ?

I read in another thread also that the "extension line" was only an option on the Cargo, not the Crew. You probably have the "port" just without the extension line, so you'll need to drop the tank if you want to use it or not. Once you have the tank down you might as well just use the standard Espar/Webasto 300mm standpipe. Some have had success using the aux port but also lots of reports of problems.

Seems like NWFreedom is having good success using the aux. port extension line which is awesome but I would still use with caution due to the sensitivity of these heaters. I'll be installing a new to market heater, the Velit. The manufacturer has advised that one customer in CO was having cavitation issues using the aux. port, didn't specify if it was the extension or not. The manual has been updated strongly advising using their supplied standpipe, or an Espar/Webasto compatible one. It further states that the aux. port is straight up not compatible with elevations over 5000feet.

So in spite of having the aux. port extension line myself, I'll be dropping my tank and installing an Espar standpipe. Oh well. Rather have it right the first time though.
