Just took delivery last week. In Florida so the AC is on high most all the time. I notice if a phone call comes in, the fan speed slows... I guess as not to interfere with the call. But, I also notice (not on a call) that when I decelerate the fan speed increases. Step on the gas ever so slightly and the fan slows down. Anyone else see this behavior ?

Thanks,
Jim

Do you have MAX A/C selected? Or re-circ?

After the issues with Police Interceptors and CO intrusion from improper modifications, Ford changed some programming to ensure positive pressure during situations exhcaust could enter from the rear doors or body exhaust flaps. This means it will blend in some fresh air at time to maintain positive pressure. Full recirc makes more noise for some reason. And on the flip side, if you have AUTO selected, it will default to re-circ when it needs more cooling capacity, when it thinks it's same to do so.

Yes, it slows if I'm using voice commands... but this is different. No voice commands, just driving and then I let off the gas, the fan speed increases... probably 15%. Step on the gas ever so slightly and the fan returns to the regular speed.

My 2015 has been doing just the opposite since day one and still going strong (70,000 miles). Mine only seems to do it when quickly stopping.....fan speed reduces momentarily. Have no idea why it acts like that.

My 2020 has the same behavior. I doubt it's getting a voltage drop with dual batteries and alternators. Maybe at lower revs it's adjusting for the lower amount of refrigerant being pumped to the coils. They may have programmed the fans to increase so you get the same net cooling effect??

..but I agree with @Vanpackr it knows what it's doing
