The fit is ok but I'm not totally happy with the final look. Not sure what I'm going to do?
I have seen where someone filled in the hole where the mounting pin with spray foam. I suppose the other divots too?

I filled the hole with spray foam and cut the end off above the slider door for longer storage above the slider door. Only problem is the foam continued to expand long after I had sanded it flush and painted it. Need to go back and get it flush again and then repaint it. Biggest eyesore in the van.

Thanks guys! I think I'll see what the wife says? She might like it? If she's cool with it I am too. But if I can get my hands on a new block I think I'll give it another try cutting it out.

Another fail, thought this might look good but I don't like it. However, if I can get a new block I can use the old one as a template and get a good fit.

I had to buy more upholstery and it also looks like a different shade of gray!

Dave - if you would mess up more often, then you wouldn't notice it. :)

When I was building the face frame for the cabinet I made the bottom rail too short. I built the first face frame one piece at a time, I cut the individual pieces and then brad nailed them to the cabinet. After watching a few YouTube videos on making cabinets l learnt that the best way to do it is to build the whole frame first then mount it to the cabinet.

You can see the mattress is higher than the bottom rail so I couldn't open the cabinet doors when the bed was down.

The old face frame came off easy.

Built the new face frame using pocket holes. It's definitely a better way to do it and really solid too!

With the taller bottom face frame the bottom drawer would no longer open, so I had to move the drawer slides up higher. Both drawers still fit but they are really close so I had to add a handle. I only had one left so I'll have to order another one.

I also had to add some edge banding.

The new face frame fits great, hopefully I can paint and install it tomorrow.
Building Wood House Shade Wall

It'll be tight but I can install the cabinet doors so they don't come in contact with the mattress.

Then I did a lot of sanding. I'm going to find someone to spray paint them.

Did some more sanding and installed the hinges.

Used some glue and sawdust from sanding to fill some cracks.

After a little sanding they look great and I'll be painting them.

Attached the doors to the face frame.

Cut a piece of wood to help install all the doors at the same height.

It's a tight fit but they do open.

Got them all installed, it was a little dusty after sanding!

Time to remove the face frame and doors. Hopefully, I can find someone to spray paint them!
