I have a 2019 ford transit connect and the front right brake has been locking up. I have replaced the caliper and rubber brake hose and bled all the lines. With the car jacked up I can spin the driver side wheel just fine. With the passenger side front as soon as I press the brakes it takes 25 seconds before the wheel will spin by hand. I’m not sure what could be causing this and any help is appreciated thank you.

if it's none of the things I've suggested, then you're going to have to take it to brake specialist. Might even be the wrong brake pads. Did you apply anti sensed grease to the system. The pads will always make contact with the rotors while driving. Plus the connect has a pre-collision system that applies the brake automatically.

Could be due to a faulty master cylinder or a problem with the ABS module. Ensure that there's no obstruction in the brake line and that the system is properly bled

Hello Adam and Mgago, Has this problem been figured out? I have the exact same issue but at first the left front and the right rear were dragging. I suspected fluid contamination so all four calipers and all four rubber brake lines have been replaced. I flushed out the brake fluid system and of coarse replaced the master cylinder. I'm left with the left front still dragging, the right rear is ok now. I'm at wits end here trying to come up with an answer. As stated when the brake peddle is released it takes several seconds for the left front wheel to free up.

Come on folks. I’m having the same issues on my 2016 Transit connect. I’m leaning towards ABS module. When I pull my ABS fuse the wheel does not lock up when driving. But I loose my speedometer. And of course get an ABS light. Anyone please help with a solution for this problem so many people have reported yet I’ve been searching for hours for a solution.

Did anyone ever figure this out ?? Having the same issue on my 2019 Transit Connect. LF brake does not fully release wheel for several seconds AFTER brake application. Replaced OEM front brake pads, rotors, calipers and hoses. BG brake fluid flush and all the quick tips (master reset, pulled ABS fuse, etc). Anyone ever have this properly diagnosed ??

so I wouldn’t say I figured it out. But I gave up on spending money. Here was my solution. For starters. I’m 99% sure it’s the ABS module that’s going bad in these vans. Part was around 2,000$ and it’s not a job I was willing to do. The thing is buried deep in the engine bay. Too deep for this guy. So I started playing with fuses. There are 2 30A fuses under the hood in the engine bay. One of for ABS. One for traction control. Pull either one you get the typical dash lights (traction control, brake light and ABS light) but if you pull the ABS, you also loose you speedometer. Odometer and all the dash cluster stuff. BUT if you pull the little 5A fuse marked for ABS / Traction Control. It will disable the system. (Still get dash lights, but speedo and everything work as they should) and with this fuse pulled it not longer allows the ABS module to activate. Allowing me to drive as if I always should have been able to. Get some electrical tape and cover over those lights. I should have know buying ford would turn out this way. Sorry ford lovers. Everything built like crap now. Not just fords.

Hi All. In the same position myself,2015 transit connect, 1.5 d manual front left brake sticks for a few seconds after release of pedal. Also notice when I'm driving along motor way and I suddenly remove my foot from accelerater the car starts to brake again on the left front. I have removed the abs 2 fuses and the car still does the same. Ideas???
Has removing the abs fuses ruled out the abs been a problem would you think?

TRAVIS FROM REDLINE AUTOMOTIVE RICHMOND B.C., WANTED TO POST FIX FOR SAME PROBLEM , L/F AND R/R WHEEL SIEZING UP , OPEN BLEEDERS AND PRESSURE RELEASES , REPLACED CALIPERS AND MASTER CYLINDER WITH OEM MASTER , SAME PROBLEM . REPLACED ABS MODULE FROM FORD (HYDRULIC AND CONTROL MODULE COMPLETE), REMOVE BATTERY TRAY AND IS BEHIND , BLEED ALL AIR FROM SYSTEM AND REFILL , SNAP ON TRITON D-10 SCAN TOOL AND RECALIBRATE ABS PRESSURE SENSORS AND ALL GOOD NOW , VERY COMMON ON THESE VANS . HOPE THIS HELPS EVERY ONE.

One update, front left wheel sticking after pressing the break . Sticking for approx 5 seconds, then releases. Checked right rear when I jacked up car, also sticking for a few seconds,
Progressively getting worse now, slightly sticky all the time now,
No lights on dash.
Decided to take the hit and remove the abs pump and module out of the van and take to local abs shop for refurbishment. Took approx 1 hr to remove. Bit of a awkward job.
Will let you know the outcome when I get the abs pump and module back from the refurb shop.
It's a 2015 1.6 diesel connect.
