As far as I have been able to tell the 2017+ F150 ECOBOOST 3.5 twin Turbo uses the same basic long block. It is probably best to find a Transit engine unless you want to swap all the accessories off or your transit to the F150 engine.
(Engine harness, ECM on the Transit is different than on the F150) F150 has the new 10R80 10 speed auto trans - so flex plate, and possibly starter could be different. Timing sensor on the back of engine and crank reluctor should be the same. They might have changed the oil pan, oil pick-up inside the pan, intake manifold, throttle body.
If you end up purchasing the F150 engine, put them on engine stands next to each other, and as you take them apart compare parts to see what is common. Eventually you will get the engines stripped to the point they look the same. Then take all the Transit parts you removed and put them on the F150 engine. Lots of work, but could be worth it if you purchase the F150 engine for less than you would a Transit engine. After you put the F150 back into your Transit, don't expect to have any more HP.
About to order a medium roof Cargo van and will install a MaxxAir fan on top. The van height is supposed to be 101" and the MaxxAir is supposed to add another 5" so I am at 106".
I have a 84" tall garage door which I thought could be raised to 108". With the raised lip this would give me approx...
I went to the Toronto Auto Show on Friday night and in the Ford display area they have one Transit cargo on display. It was a 2020 t350hd crew van configuration with aftermarket shelves and bulkhead installed. In case anyone's in Southern Ontario here's a chance to go look at it crew in person.
Not finding much info out there on the new diesel. Any guess on power, mpg, eta?
Sounds like AWD may not be an option with the diesel, but sounds like a interesting platform for a Quigley.
curious to hear thoughts and comments.
I have seen pictures of vans where the second row seat can face forward, or it can swing sideways and sit against the driver side wall of the van facing the passenger side door. Is this a completely different seat? I'm hoping it is a bracket that I can retro onto the existing seat. Unfortunately...
I am considering a 900 watt cooking power microwave (1350 watt draw). This will be my largest AC load and likely the only other AC load used at the same time would be charging a laptop (laptop charger says input is 1.2A, so if I'm figuring correctly, W=1.2A x 120V, = 144 watt draw). Microwave...
