I estimate I am approximately 92 % complete having put in over 1000 hours since December 2015. Still have to become the decorator and finisher that I am NOT! I have also figured out how to put some of the pictures in my Transit Forum Garage: "TRANSIT 350HD WAGON" Not the best presentation but it is all mine to share.

Two questions.

From reading I've been led to believe if any cells of a solar panel are shaded it degrades performance of entire panel. No concern about the panel adjacent to the air vent cover?

Have you determined what your fully loaded weight is? 84 gallons potentially (3x28?) is a heap'o weight. I've read elsewhere that vans that exceed their GVWR are not suffered gladly by those who monitor such things.

I['m not a technical person, but very practical one. If I point/park directly into the sunrise, I assume that there may be some shading effect from A/C unit for a couple hours in morning. Understanding that and more so the fact that there is only so much space to do necessary things I'm not worried. Also,my charging ability combines a number of factors: Vehicle starter motor dual battery charging, landline charging, generator charging, solar charging.

Realistic understanding of my own routines; Preparing for a trip: I fill fuel tank, fill fresh water tank. Lots of food, beer, wine and water. Some clothes. I figure as the fresh tank is used,, it goes into the black water so the fresh water weight is now the black water weight. Lucky enough to find more fresh water but no dump,, I can use another 28 gal of freshwater then having to use my second black water tank. So I will end up with two full black, and one empty fresh. Maybe 56 gal of black x 9= 504 lbs. Vehicle Weight with full fuel tank, full propane tank at 8,720 lbs. Add black= 9224 lbs. Add my fat self 275, and wifes skinny butt 140 = 9,639 total gross weight. Until I figure out how to mount the Genset 245/bs I add or remove it depending on my trip needs. Now normally I would never need to use both black water tanks unless I was out in dessert. Example- say Burning Man where we are not permitted to put any (non pure water) liquid onto the ground. Stuck in center of 75,000 people with no method to get a dump! Mine is not a perfect setup but we sure love it, the way it turned out. My transit book shows I have max capacity of 10,360lbs. Thanks for your input,, I have learned a lot from this forum, and have used most of it on building my ROADWAGON. All you comments and ideas are sure welcome.

What does this sentence mean?

I take it to mean that the motor carrier "man" is lookin' to bust ya.
Like a riddle to read. But that makes sense.

I would not be worried about getting busted by DOT, and my bigger concern is actually being unsafe.
True dat bof dem tings.
I certainly agree, staying safe is primary. The "law"?, well this old Jarhead makes all reasonable attempts to keep within the laws of the land.
