I found it odd that in addition to defrost settings on the vent selection dial that there is also one at the highest heat setting of the temperature dial. So reading the manual it says that it has a heated windshield switch...but they show a switch and not it on the temperature dial. So is it heated? And if not then what purpose is this furthest right icon on the temperature dial? I do have rear defrost and heated mirrors but they're both on a separate switch above radio.

Although you have posted your request in the appropriate Thread, "Ford Transit Connect General Discussion", unfortunatley the forum owners have misled you.
For some stupid reason, they included that thread in a web-sight forum dedicated to the full size Transit,(see the forum title in the header) not the smaller version. Your TC is a '13 model, while the full size didn't get produced here until '15.
Members here will most likely not be able to help you as the only thing in common with the vehicles is the name (Ford's mistake).
Evidently there is a web-sight dedicated to TC owners, you might send a PM to Lost in Transit and ask him for the link, as he also has a TC. Hope you can locate your fellow TC owners to share info.
