We finally had some to time take the Rhino on a road trip. Before we left on our trip, we installed our motion windows and maxxair fan (although fan is not running yet). Install was scary cutting holes in a new van but all went good. As for our trip, we drove about 2500 miles to Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon. We threw a mattress in the rear and off we went for a week. We mostly drove I-40 Texas to Nevada and back. Gas mileage in our diesel version was 16.5 on a very windy day and 21.5 on a good day. Highway speed was mostly 70-75. Van was nice to drive but got a little tiresome and squirrely in the wind going 75.

We seen a lot of transits in vegas...even the LV police drives transit. Driving around Las Vegas was fairly easy except finding parking down on the strip was challenging because they have mostly parking garages with low ceilings. I thought mileage was good because of how fast we went and I-40 between Texas and Nevada has a lot of hills.

I have Las Vegas all scoped out for high roof parking from 10 years of Sprinter ownership! Did you know the old airport terminal passenger pickup area only had 8' clearance?! I cheated and went where the casino shuttles went, and got yelled at by security every time. Pleaded ignorance while people loaded in.

Worst place is Paris/Bally, where you have to park WAY in the back, with the semis and tour buses.
Best places are Mandalay Bay (park by the aquarium entrance) and Luxor (first level of covered parking in the back is high enough for a tall van). Just use the monorails from there to access the rest of the strip.

Are you going with the large or smaller windows behind seats? I went with the large windows and front window placement is tricky. I recommend doing the passenger side first because the placement is tricky with the door lock button and cutting the inside supports. I installed the driver side first and it sits a little more towards the back. Also be sure to start and place rubber seal from the bottom of window frame. As for wind noise and rattles not noticeable to me (I about deaf) wife said maybe a little, they sealed good I don't have insulation yet and my van is noisy anyway. Im going to apply a bead of silicone around outside window frame for insurance. I washed the van and no leaks. I like them, they add a function for venting and look good to me.

I too plan to install some of their windows. Your comment about door lock button not exactly clear to me. Does that mean you put a window in the slider door? I ordered a slider with a window already so I would only be putting windows in the rear, and likely just the smaller ones as you show in the rear of yours.

My understanding is that if you order windows from them it is a 30 day wait. Was that true in your case?

Yes, the wait was long and actually the windows shipped a day or two after scheduled date. I was hoping to get windows sooner so I could have more progress on Rhino before winter sets in. As for the passenger side window lock post, I had to trim post because the window frame is close to post. Im not sure the smaller window would be a easier install but I like the large window and it doesn't seem to be a problem with locking. I have to find me a horn hood ornament for the Rhino. lol

Would you please tell me how the window opens. Does the bottom part slide with a screen, or does it flip up? I looked at the web site, but it wasn't clear. I am scheduled to have fixed glass installed in my slider door the first week of November, but I may hold off having seen your set up. Thanks,

On the large windows the bottom 1/2 windows slide to the front. The back small windows also slide from back to front and there are screens on the inside that will remove easily. These windows are probably like windows you would find on older vans or campers. They are good quality and tint is nice. Someone will probably make frameless windows eventually but when that is if so, is any ones guess. I like the windows...I wanted to see out plus use for ventilation and I wanted to get going with my build. Good Luck.
