Looking at the 130WB, Med Roof Transit for a custom "ClassB" RV.
Relatively light build, no thick particle board cabinets or roof AC.
No towing planned. But liquids are heavy!

Just finished a chat session with Ford to answer some questions.

The differences between the 150 and 250 are 400lbs payload, $940 base cost. Towing capacity seems to be the same if all else is equal (engine, axle ratio). Vehicle weights are the same (with the same engines). 5060 with 3.7, 5130 with 3.5eco, 5500 with 3.2 Diesel, so engine choice, especially the diesel, eats into payload.

Chat person said ground clearance is 6 inches for 150, same for 250. She didn't know if this was empty or with rated load.

If I don't need the extra 400 pounds payload, what's to choose between the two? Seems like the 150 might ride a little better, less harsh, but it might also be more susceptible to wind. $940 buys some nice options.

What's to choose between the 3.73 and 4.10 axle ratios? 10% lower RPM, a little quieter, better MPG on the flat, but worse acceleration, esp on hills?

I notice the 3.5eco has a 3.31 option, which might improve MPG and noise level, but I'll almost certainly go with the 3.7 for cost and simplicity.

I'll be curious to see what the actual load height is. Specs show 28.2" for MWB, 28.8 for LWB. By contrast, the Dodge Ram Promaster claimed 21", but I measured 25.5 in the rear, 23.5 at the side, empty, quite a significant tilt.

So what exactly does the 250 add besides different suspension components......heavier duty brakes and wheels?
I noticed that the non-dually 350 does not have the alloy wheel option, I'm assuming that up at that range more lugs etc as well.

I plan on buying a 148"WB, high roof, 250, 3.7 engine.with 4.10 rear.

I initially wanted the 3.73 rear but that is not an option with high roof. (except on ambulance package) Now think 4.10 would be OK because I will probably change to 265 series LTX Michelin tires when original tires are worn out. Larger diameter of 265's will reduce 4.10 ratio. Hope they fit. They were 4% larger diameter than the original Sprinter 245's.

I added 2130 lbs for my Sprinter 144"WB conversion. Should be a couple hundred pounds lighter conversion for the Transit now that I have learned where to reduce weight. I am still 1200 pounds under the GVWR of the Sprinter.

I suspect there are more changes between the 150 and 250 than just stiffer rear springs. For $940 they must have other changes to increase load rating. Heavier duty the better after owning a marginal Sprinter. Would like to know what other changes are included.
