History
This is a rare 100% electric car Ford produced only in 2002 to meet a special NHTSA rule allowing small speed-restricted (25mph) cars, "Neighborhood Electric Vehicles". California at the time was requiring manufacturers to offer a certain percentage of zero-emission vehicles, and Ford and Chrysler used NEVs to qualify. The rule was struck down in 2003, immediately making this car an orphan.

It looks like a golf cart, until you park it next to one - about 50% bigger. It has a full aluminum frame and 4-wheel independent suspension, and the safety equipment and lighting of a full-sized car. They were $8500 when new, and failed miserably in the market because you could get a Hyundai sedan at the time for the same price.
