I'm trying to order the parts I need to install 8 LED ceiling lights and have some questions about choosing connector types. The Far Out Ride folks have posted an installation guide that I have been following to choose the lights and switches. They suggest using male and female heat shrink connects to match up the 18g wiring on the lights with the 12g wire they used to power them.

These are really expensive. Is there a better way to do this?
They also recommend using the scotch lock splice connectors.

Cheap and easy. I didn't think heat shrink was justified in my application. https://go.shr.lc/2H6frWZ

I've also made use of these lever nuts. https://go.shr.lc/35AShSg

I've been using wago lever-nuts pretty much anywhere that in the future I might possible want to modify/tap. The UL-listing gives me peace of mind.

I am an Electrical Engineer, please don't ever use scotch lock splice connectors for anything! Over time and with vibrations they can severe the wire they're connected on and cause issues you don't ever want to think about, like fires!
