      Thanks as well for the recommendation on the Whale product. FarOutRide also recommended a Whale although it's a different version. HERE Was this available when you selected yours? If so, any reason to choose the one you have over this one?

      Shanti - We use the Mk3 Whale pumps on our boat - they've worked reliably for the last 10 years . Our in-line filter is an inexpensive one from Home Depot, but I don't know which one without going to the boat. I just buy a new one when it gets hard to pump. Also, watch out for the 0550 vs. 0551; the in/out ports are on opposite sides of the pumps which can make it tough to pipe in a tight space.
      
      Last point; the amazon price isn't great; you can probably get them for a bit less from defender.com or one of the other discount marine outfitters.
