recently purchased 2018 low roof 12 passenger wagon
We are a large family in central Texas, living just outside of College Station. I work from home as a software engineer, and I'm also a shade tree mechanic with lots of tools and knowlege of vehicle repair. I do all my own vehicle maintenance and repairs.
We are also a foster family. We recently went over the state maximum of 6 kids with a variance to get the older brother of a baby we've had for a year and a half since birth, so now we have 7. Our 8 passenger Honda Pilot no longer was cutting it.
We wanted a 15 passenger wagon. We searched for over a month looking for a low mileage 2017 or 2018 with a low roof. We had found one in Houston, so my wife drove down there to get it. Unfortunately, someone had arrived 10 minutes before and purchased the 15 passenger we wanted. They had a 12 passenger van that fit most of our needs, except for missing the back row. It has the low roof, tinted windows, and power step rail, and interior that wasn't torn up. These were things we were insistent on, so rather than wasting half a day and driving 2 hours back home empty handed, I told her to go ahead and buy it.
There are enough seats for our entire family, but we are still wanting the flexibility of the extra 3 seats the 15 passenger version had. I'm going to be looking into ways to add additional seating.
We are also spoiled by having modern stereo systems, so the basic sync with the tiny screen wasn't cutting it. I've already replaced it with a pioneer AVH-2550 DVD system and idatalink maestro Mrr. All wires connections were soldered with heat shrink. Were loving the larger backup camera screen, and still having steering wheel audio controls.
