2020 transit crew van seating

With the new 3 seat second row seat, are you able to get into the cargo area from the second row seating? Or do do have to enter by the rear doors?
Will a two seat option be available in place of the three seat ?

With the 62" 3 passenger seat that is projected for the CrewVan package, you will be able to get into the cargo area from the side door. You would have the same access area as entering the SWB 8 passenger van. Ford is not looking to have a partition or bulkhead behind the second row seat but leaving that to Ford upfitters who may have that option for commercial customers.

There is NO projected 2 seat option for the CrewVan model. If the seat configuration is the same as the passenger van, then you should be able to remove the 3 passenger seat and insert the 36" 2 passenger seat in its place.

One of the first orders to be placed at Matt Ford will be a fully equipped 2020 T-250 MR CrewVan. With ordering this vehicle, we hope to have ALL of the information available for this model. Ford is still keeping a lot of the information silent right now as they are formulating the final plans to it.

I have been using photos from forum members to get the 3 passenger seat changed to a 54" seat and the flip-out windows in that seating area. If these 2 options are not available through normal ordering, Matt Ford is looking to place a fleet order to get these 2 options placed on a CrewVan order. This would require ordering at least 6 of the SAME ORDERED Transit so it would take some forum members getting together to come up with 6 or more IDENTICAL ordered Transits. This may be possible with such a large number of interested buyers and making these CrewVan models with lots of options.

Any luck or progress on the 54" option?

No, Ford is going to use the 62" seat as far as we know. As part of the leather seating upgrade that Matt Ford will be offering for the CrewVan, we may get a 54" seat from a earlier model Transit and get it recovered to match the front leather seats and see how that works out. We though about doing the FLEET order, but would have to order 6 matching Transits to get it. Going with the leather seating would be just getting the 54" seat recovered.

Once we get our 2020 T-250 MR CrewVan at the dealership, we will start coming up with some added features for it and provide those options for Matt Ford customers.

Thanks! If you all are looking at five other customers interested in a 148 ext, HR, with a 10 way drivers seat crew van... let me know. Otherwise yeah, I bet that retrofitting is the way to go. I wonder if they're using the wagons frame that has the rail mounts for the other seats there, or if it's a cargo frame with just the 64" on it. Although, from a safety standpoint, if one of two seat rails had to be installed from scratch... I think I could live with that from an insurance/liability/safety standpoint, since the vehicle is rated for 5 and has airbags etc.

It will be exciting when yours arrives to see what Ford did. Also, thank you for all of your work on the BOB order. Just waiting for the call info to proceed.

That's an interesting thought. If they use the wagon frame that has the welded untapped nuts under it for all the rails, it would be possible to more easily add other rails and/or seats if desired.

TWO EcoBoost XLT wagons Silver/Charcoal, 2-15 Passenger each (on any given day). Click to view garage info and images:

I don't think Ford will be doing that as they do not want any seats added without the roof air bags.

This will be the first thing I do when we get our stock ordered CrewVan is get it on a lift and check out the undercarriage to see if they are using the passenger van floor configuration or going with a ALL NEW setup just for the CrewVan. I am expecting they will make it a separate undercarriage just for the added second row seat and the rest will be like a cargo van.

Still waiting for our CrewVan order to be scheduled. Ford has passed on it a few times so they may be waiting for more orders to setup the builds.

I was hoping I could get Ford to place the rear sway bar as a option for the cargo and CrewVan models. They think the factory stability system works fine so buyers do not need that extra option. As you have seen, forum members have added it on their own so by the time Ford would go through the time and effort to add it, it would probably cost 2 to 3 times more as a added option that you would just go and purchase the needed parts and add it yourself.

There is a parts listing with all of the needed Ford parts as well as some of the other outside parts you need to make the installation. I'm sure once a few forum members read this you will get a link to get all of the needed parts and the way to install it!

Maybe I missed it in another post, but did you ever find out what airbags the CrewVan would have? Will they go the length of the vehicle like a wagon or did they come up with one that stops mid ship?
