Rear A/C funny hole in cover

So, 2018 T-350 Wagon with rear HVAC. On the left rear plastic hump covering the A/C condenser is a 3-4 inch by 1 inch hole with thin foam covering. Looks a little greasy. What is this and how important is it? Should I have covered it up with dog crate platform? Would show you a picture but for same reason cannot.

Mine does not have that. Would need to see it to offer a better answer.

Mine has that. I think it’s from one of the mounting bars for the very last rows of seats. When I removed the seats today, the bar was rubbing on the foam rubber.

I have a 15 passenger.

Garage
I have it on my 2015 15 passenger but not on my 2018 15 passenger. Like gramps said I think it has to do with the single seat in that location, but I have both of mine removed. When I get a chance I will examine the removed seats to see if they are slightly different.

Thanks for pics, that's helpful. I was worried I had covered up something important. I have a 1.5 inch thick, 67 x 48 inch dog crate platform over it now. Have no interest in moving it!
