Thanks for the feedback. It seems like the biggest issue is value, more upfront cost, more fuel cost with minimal gains. If a good deal could be had on a used one perhaps they are worth considering.

What's considered a long idle 5 minutes or 1 hour?

2015 Side Air Bags

I recently purchased a used 2015 250 med roof, 148 inch wb. 2015 only has side air bags as an option. I have the foam 'blobs' but no airbags under them! Go figure.

I was confident in buying the 2015 because the Transit had been sold in Europe for a long time before Ford offered it in the US. It had been well tested before it arrived here!

The Ecoboost is amazing! I love the turn radius, and overall, this van drives like my car. In fact, I have to be careful to remember that. I found myself half way into a parking spot before I remembered that I was not in my CRV. Had to back out sheepishly!

I can also confirm no side airbags on the 2015 cargo (standard).
I watched to see if there were any issues before I bought my 2015 in 2016. I read a lot of expediters forums, because they put on a lot of miles. I wasn't concerned about it after that, and got one.
Lynette; you LIKE the turning radius?! Mine turns like a semi! But I had a T1N Sprinter before the Transit, and it's turning radius seemed almost as tight as our Fiat 500e. I could do a U turn in our street with the Sprinter, but with the Transit it's a 3-point turn.

I miss the turning circle but in every other conceivable metric related to chassis the Transit is at least twice as good as the T1N.
