Did not hate the Sprinter. Did experience a couple of things that made me make the change. High service costs, prominent LHM that can occur at any time (once right after passing cars on two lane road affects your confidence), horrible programing of 5 speed nag1 transmission, $2,000 cost to repair the hydronic heater, the fear of being too far from a service location, more places to city camp(at Ford dealers).

Also wanted to build another conversion because I now know about 100 things to change/improve after building the Sprinter. Sprinter conversion worked well but I always do better on the second chance at designing.

I was surprised how much better the Transit drives. Did not mind the Sprinter but transit is better.

Dealer found my van! Only thing not on list is dual battery system

Hi, folks, been lurking, great site.
Anyway dealer actual almost found my van, 250 HR
But does not have the dual battery system. Or slider door window
Batteries first, does the DBS have a dedicated place for second battery and will
It be there without it being ordered.?
Can I have someone else do it better?
Thanks, Joe

Single battery system, one lead acid battery under the hood.

Two battery system, two AGM's under the drivers seat.

I think I read in the up fitters manual, that the single battery system can be converted to a double system, which involves an added wiring loom IIRC.

Believe the single battery system has battery under the driver's seat and recall reading that you can upgrade to duel batteries.

What is under the driver seat if you don't order the DBS.

Is the battery space there?

Orton, is the wiring loom plug and play or dealer install?
Thanks for your input, my dealer is off until Monday, then I have to make a decision.

Yeah. It's in the works. It's been in the works for 9 months, maybe longer. No projected availability dates or cost, however.

Do not know.

Battery space I believe is there.
