True, but the entire mechanism can be installed under the vehicle closer to the rear wheels and mostly enclosed and protected, and would eliminate the lengths of cable going to the front, and the entire mechanism inside the vehicle.

Are you guys saying the F-Series still uses cables and the like for parking brake?

I havenít researched this much at all, but was thinking the parking brake used the standard brakes. I was under impression on these cars (and SUVs and pickups) that you apply brakes and then they are locked closed. Apparently this is not the case?
