I was looking to add a subwoofer to my 18 T350DH Wagon with Nav and saw that Hein has a mounting plate for an Alpine PWE-S8 powered subwoofer that fits in the wall cavity behind the drivers seat. He also has mounting plates for the same area for 10" subwoofers, but that would require an additional amp.
Has anyone used this set up or this sub (or any other)?
My questions, besides performance is where did you pull the audio inputs from? Did you just tap into the speaker wires going to the mid or rear door speakers or something else?
Also if adding an additional amp for the other speakers, same basic question but also did you just use the wires from the back of the radio going to the speakers? I was thinking for some reason they did not go straight from the head unit but through another module before going to the speaker.
I'm not looking to build a competition system to annoy the neighbors 3 blocks away, just looking to fill some voids in the factory system. I have Kicker 43CSS674 components in the front doors and A pillars already but they could use a little more power to get them sounding nice.
