Graphite Dave and I are working on pulling together a small van related get together.

Nothing fancy or complicated - just who ever is in the mood to stop by and look at vans and related stuff.

A few details still to be worked out, but the general plan is:

- Sunday April 28, 2019
- 11 am - 6 pm

It is going to happen, just narrowing down the location options.

Location
- Petaluma / Santa Rosa CA area.
- Exact site still being worked out.

Criteria
- Ideally able to accommodate up to 30 - 40 vans
- Parking place where we can keep them relatively close to each other
- Children are welcome, so it would be nice if there was something for them to do as most will tire of looking at vans long before those who think of it as a hobby.
- Nearby bathrooms
- Nearby food places would be nice

To be honest, finding a place that can accommodate and be children friendly is a bit complicated, which is really unfortunate.

This isn't brand specific and anyone who enjoys this sort of hobby event is welcome to stop by.

My own van actually is not really a conversion at all - more of an auxiliary power demo unit in some ways. If you have any interest in finding out what it takes to power something, feel free to plug in and ask questions.

If you think that there is at least a 10% chance that you might stop by, please post here so we can do some approximate planning.

Originally it was planned as a "bring your own food and drinks" but one of the sprinter van owners is attempting to pull together tables and related for more of a potluck sort of arrangement.

Take care,

Harry

Petaluma Friedman's parking lot. The area over by the entrance to the lumberyard never has any cars in it. It's not an official event, no one is collecting money or selling anything, so it's perfectly fine to park in the unused parking area. Restaurants nearby, bathrooms in the restaurants and Friedman's. Dog Park adjacent to walk the dogs.

Heck, just looking on Google Earth, the dog park has a huge unused parking lot, and there are some other paved lots right by it. All right next to the Friedman's strip mall.

Harry asked me to post the information on the Petaluma van conversion meet:

When: Sunday April 28th.

Time: 11:00 AM to 6:00PM

Where: Petaluma

Location: The parking lot of the Deer Creek Village shopping center. Friedman's Hardware store is in that shopping center. Friedman's address is 429 North McDowell.

Where in parking lot: The Northeast corner of lot at McDowell and Rainier.

The shopping center has several restaurants. No separate toilet facilities. There is a dog park next to the shopping center.

We hope no one asks us to leave.

Any brand van or anyone interested in conversions are welcome.

Would love to come but have church service on Sunday. If I arrive around 4 pm will people still be around?

My wife and I have Monday-Tuesday off so would like to stay & find a nice spot to camp in, near a Napa winery or a beach. Would love to hear recommendations from someone local :)

I loaded 3 electrical systems into my van for show and tell.

1x1 - similar to the unit used at sprinter snail's camping event last year.

1x3 - similar electronics, but 3 x the battery capacity

2x4 - Double the inverter, and of course more battery capacity.

Might soon need a bigger vehicle.
