Hi all,
I hope it is o.k. that I post this here. I have been a Transit owner since 2015. I am also part owner of a new company down here in SW Colorado. We just launched a line of accessories for overlanders as well as a full kit of insulated, magnetic window covers custom made for the Ford Transit. All products at Nightfall Overland are made in house and use the highest quality materials we can find. We are not new to sewing but this is a new direction for us, so we are pretty excited.

Thanks,
Andrew

DHMTBR2,
I will get a color sample up on the website today. The grey is very similar to your seat color. Just a classic light grey. As far as the driver's side window goes I don't have an answer for you. We are trying to get our hands on a Transit with that option to either compare it to the passenger window or make a new template.

Nightfall Overland are producing a very nice looking product.

We stock Low-E at our warehouse in Hood River. We offer it in a 72" width which is great for spanning the roof of the Transit after installing 3M Thinsulate(TM) SM600L. Many of the folks who are making insulated window covers are purchasing master rolls of Low-E from us. Please contact Kim via DIYvan.com for master roll pricing. We have also seen some incredibly creative and talented DIY folks sew their own window covers. We don't intend to enter that business but do make insulated tri-fold vent covers which you can purchase at a discount when you buy our vent adapters.

All the best,
Hein

As you know if you stick a human in a box in the cold you will get condensation. It is most likely against the metal skin under the regular insulation as well, it's just harder to see. That said, these fit fairly snugly against the window so we don't see excessive condensation. If anything you can see rapid condensation (fogging) when you remove them on a cold morning.

However the heat retention is quite noticeable compared to just glass or curtains and you don't have the tell tale giveaway of the shiny reflectix/heatshield in all the windows.

"Color samples of the silver are up on the site"

Greenwater, when using the site I am able to select either tan or silver but I missed how to see the silver color samples. Perhaps my iPad is blocking me from seeing it?

Thanks for providing this valuable resource to the Transit community.

It might be your iPad? Each transit window cover product page has a series of different images of the product. On each page we have place one image showing the two fabric swatches next to each other. Hope this helps!

pattonsr,
I took a look at those and they seem quite a bit thicker than ours. They seemed to be around 1" thick where ours use LOW-E insulation which is closer to 3/16". Allowing for a smaller package when folded up. I couldn't get a very good look at them so I could be wrong.

Just an update for all you Transit owners with passenger versions with plastic trim. We now have dialed in templates that rely on suction cups to attach the covers to the windows. (U.S. made by the way) They work great for privacy and urban camping but they are not quite the level of black out that our magnetic covers are.

The templates for the magnetic covers have continued to evolve and improve as well. We have tweaked them slightly at least a half dozen times for improved fit.

Cheers,
Andrew

I propose these rules to resolve all disagreements and dislikes in this forum:

No intentional hitting or kicking is permitted
No gouging the eyes or biting is permitted, since even the Pankration does not allow these
It is at the discretion of the referee whether or not twisting the fingers with the intention of forcing the opponent to concede defeat is permitted
Grasping the genitals is prohibited
All other holds intended to persuade the opponent to concede defeat through pain or fear are permitted and are an integral part of the contest
Infractions shall be punished by immediate whipping by the referee until the undesirable behaviour is stopped
Three points must be scored to win the match
A point can be scored in any of three ways:
the opponent’s back touching the ground at any time
by the opponent tapping or in some other way making clear that he concedes defeat through pain or fear
by the opponent making contact with ground outside the allocated wrestling-match ground with any part of his body, or by being lifted and carried out
After scoring a point, the opponent must be given time to rise on his feet and a few moments more before the wrestling may continue
The match is both started and ended at the signal of the referee
The referee can at any time stop the match if he believes a point has been scored but the contestants have continued to wrestle unaware of the point having been scored
The referee or other officials in charge of the contest, if other officials are presiding, shall resolve any dispute the contestants have over scoring, and their decision shall be final
The wrestling-ground shall be a large square, 28.5 by 28.5 metres (a Plethron: 100 Greek Feet, the typical width of a running-track), or any other size determined by the holders of the games, and it shall be all of sand or earth
The contestants shall begin the match at the center of the wrestling-ground outside of each other’s touching-range, the precise distance being at the discretion of the referee
All other more specific details are at the discretion of the officials presiding over the games
