After recently seeing someone mention liking their tilt and telescopic steering steering column, I thought for sure this was something for newer models. Mine just has a single lever under the column that frees the mechanism to tilt up and down...
Or so I thought until I pulled on the damned thing! WTF? I love this!
What other features have you learned about after the fact? Little things that improve your experience.
It's not bad, but more useful would be a 3 position switch with: AUTOMATIC/ON/OFF. To further my wishful thinking, put one in the cab, at the sliding door, and the rear RIGHT door since this is the one you open first and close last. Is it opposite on the European model?
Moreover, the ON setting should keep the lights on until the vehicle detects low battery voltage. I'll be rewiring this as part of my conversion.
On the plus side, they are amazingly bright and I like the spectrum/colour/temperature.
Yep, My 2016 has it, I was very squeaky when I first pulled the steering wheel outward, Like they never lubed it.
It was either in an earlier thread or in the owners manual when I first learned it telescopes.
My factory stereo apparently has an auto volume reducing function....when it thinks I've had too much volume for too long, it automatically lowers it....anyone else have this...?
I found out the rear camera has 2 view settings... Push one of the buttons on the stock radio and it changes the viewing angle...When I switched to aftermarket radio I lost it....or haven't found it yet....
Well, stepping on most bumpers would result in damage or inadvertent removal. Unless I saw it in the manual or a sign that says "STEP HERE", I'm not likely to try it out first.

anyone know the weight limit for the step? asking for a friend...
also if you move the license plate down over the front of the step there should be enough room for feet on either side? this will improve your aerodynamics by 0.01%
I think it may just be digital zoom, not camera angle. This is selected by the soft buttons on the media console. I didn't find the zoomed in view that useful.
on the Sync 3 system, there is a magnifying glass + icon when the camera is on and selecting that icon will zoom in which helps for backing up a to hitch a trailer.
Well this is not an actual feature but on observation:
The other odd thing I notice about this Automatic tranny is that putting the Tranny in "N" while driving does not drop the RPM of the engine to idle speed. I have tried this with my BMW and Honda and the RPM does drop to near idle RPM speed.
Is just my van or do all of the 6R80 Tranny's act like this.
There was a thread a while back where someone wanted to know what the "yellow tube" under the passenger seat was for. Imagine their delight when it was explained that they had their very own bottle jack, compliments of Ford!
Surly, I found that 'yellow tube' early on but had to run around the van a couple of times before I found the 'to be assembled' handle. Without that the 'yellow tube' can be used to break a window in case you need to escape. For the curious, the handle is it at the passenger side step, behind the wall that has two modes: i does not want to open, ii does not want to stay closed.
Didja know that there is a spot in the a/c duct for a cabin air filter, but there is no filter in there? Flop the glove box out of the way so that it dumps everything on the floor and there it is. Buy a filter and put it in. I have one, it makes no difference in air flow but does help keep out dust.
On wheel changing: The receptacle for driving the spare wheel winch accepts a 1/2 in. socket-wrench drive. A 1/2 in. "speeder" (brace-style socket driver) makes quick work of lowering and raising the spare wheel. --Frank
