Where/How to wash a High Roof van in the winter?

We live in Minneapolis and want to get the road salt and winter crud off the van on a regular basis.

I've done some internet searches and nothing promising shows up. Does anyone have a favorite technique for washing their van in the winter or a favorite place to go get it washed?

With the MaxxFan on the roof and the Quigley 4x4 addition the van is over 10 feet high. Should I look up all the nearby car washes and see which one we'll fit in?

Does anyone take there van to a big truck (semi) wash and how would I search for that?

I've done some searches on this forum and nothing shows up. Either I haven't used the right search terms, no one's talked about it much or everyone drives around all winter in a very dirty van.

We've been considering using a ladder and a soft wash brush on a pole to do the roof.

Just don't lean a ladder ON the Transit- very thin metal up top and many have dented theirs.

I just use a car washing brush on a stick. Apologies to Jeff Dunham.

ditto on The Grand Tour; a step ladder and one of those soft bristle car washing brooms that the water shoots out of. For a HR you'll want an 8' minimum step ladder. I use a 6' for my MR, but even then I'm probably standing a step or two above where I should be allowed to by OSHA ☠

We have self service car washes with truck bays. They are high enough to get your van in. Still need a ladder though. Should be a few in your area. Go easy on the high pressure spray. It will get water in places you don't want full of ice, like the keyholes. No fun having to get medieval á la Marcellus Wallace on your key.

I asked the same after I bought my van, truck wash places charge mucho $$$ to wash, I take a beta blocker to slow my heart down to conquer my fear of heights and then go at it on a ladder with a long handle brush ;-)

Second @alarmist . We have self-service car washes and several have high bays that I can fit my HR with Maxxair into.

You could do a lot with one of those low cost pressure washers just getting the salt off, But it would take a rag of a brush before it looked clean.

there is a truck wash in my town....I pulled in and asked how much to do mine....$10....I set an account up! The few times I washed my van myself it cost $10 in quarters...so I was ok with that... There is also a self wash that has a step up platform on the side about 10 steps up and then deck with a rail that helps too....down side it is in the wrong part of town...so day operation only....but it works....I asked fed ex drivers all the time and they said they have a service that comes out and does theirs....I ask about the roof, they all say they don't know....but that may be another option for you...ask the fed ex drivers or where the nearest freight operations are...DHL uses them too.
