Renogy 20A/40A 12V DC to DC On-Board Battery Chargers

I know there are many different brands of on-board chargers being used by forum members but does anyone have experience with either of the Renogy 20A/40A 12V DC to DC On-Board Battery Chargers?

I'm glad you posted this! I have been wondering the same thing. 3 stage charger for only $130. Seems to be a really good option compared to the Sterling BB that is so expensive.

Great, thanks! I have posted the link below. It will be interesting to see his follow-up review after further testing.

Nice find, thanks for posting. 40A isn't bad at all for the money ($199). I only see 48A average out of my 60A sterling for half the price. The Lithium profile voltages appear to be ideal. I wonder if it sounds like a hair dyer like the Sterling?

FYI - I just noticed the manual shows a 60A version is available. No mention of it on Renogy's site though.

The 2nd control cable, which the reviewer couldn't figure out, is for reducing power to 12.5%/5A (the manual is unclear if this related to output or fixed across models)

*update

Since I know Renogy often rebrands equipment I did some searching and it seems Dometic offers a similar product in Europe (no 60A version either though)

That was the one that kept going up in smoke during the beta testing phase.

Thanks for posting this. I just ordered the 20a version ($129) after watching that review. Renogy has a 10% coupon if you register an account (welcome10) and free ground shipping.

I previously had a small Victron charger running on my inverter when the van was running, but this was so cheap, I figured I'd jump on it. I can still use my Victron charger for shore power charging.

Thanks for posting. Does anyone know if there is an ignition switched circuit under the driver's seat? That is the only detail keeping me from pulling the trigger on this unit.

While digging around looking for someone selling the 60amp version of this, I dug up this little gem I've never seen before:

Its an Australian 25A B2B & MPPT solar charge controller in one. I found them for sale on ebay for about $400 shipped.
