I've read how in some states that offer RV registration a conversion has to be signed off on, meeting certain requirements in order to get the RV title, only then can RV insurance be purchased that will cover the contents of the conversion.
In other situations I've read that certain criteria have to be met, like having a sink, toilet, bed, cook top, etc. and sometimes an RV dealer has to inspect it for the insurance company to verify the required number of items are present.
Where I am, it is uncertain whether I can even purchase insurance that covers the conversion components. Only the van itself is covered by the policy, no RV title in Texas. Everything else is just "contents" and might have to be covered on the homeowner's policy rather than the van's.
Yeah that is not how it works with State Farm- or at least through my agent. I know this from my last convo about my conversion with them and also a sunken boat experience.
