We just got back from another shakedown trip to my favorite trout fishing hole for my b-day. The van did great, but their are still lots of little details I need to sort out prior to our big Canada trip this summer. Mostly related to additional organized storage in the garage, and shelves in the cabinetry. The water and electrical systems performed flawlessly

Amazing build!! So many fantastic details.

Quick question (forgive me if I missed it): is there a grey water tank for the sink and shower? Thx.

Love your build! We are just negotiating the purchase of our Transit and we're planning a very similar layout to yours. I was just wondering what kind of finish did you put on the paneling/cabinets?

Thanks! Not yet, but soon will be. I'm still trying to figure out a tank for under the driver slider.

No swimming unfortunately. We had a very unseasonal cold front that came threw and dropped the temps into the 60's for highs. Made for great camping and fishing though

Thanks! Just good paint. The cabinet doors were prefinished from Ikea.

I really like the idea of having the two-seater bench behind the driver's seat for passengers and a dinette area. I'm trying to figure out how to make that work in the non-extended Transit. Does the backrest in your bench seat fold forward at all past the point that you show in the photos? I'm wondering because I've thought about building a low box/bench seat around a portable potty or composting toilet directly behind the bench seat. That would allow the seat to still recline, and if it could at least fold forward to vertical it would allow putting the toilet seat pretty close. Also, now that you have used the van a bit, are you happy using the factory bench seat, or if you were to redo it, would you choose an aftermarket bench seat or one from another vehicle brand that might fold all the way forward to create a flat space?

No, that's as upright as they'll go. I'd estimate they are 15* and recline to around 20*. I'm happy with them, particularly since they can be had relatively cheaply and they match the front seats. I've been toying with the idea of making a sleeping platform that would span the second row seat and the swiveled front seats. Their is plenty of room to sleep an adult or a couple of kids. I just need to devise a way to collapse and store it away. It would be nice to have a second bed for guy's trips.

I finally conquered the dreaded blobs and installed the ceiling at the headliner. Templating the compound curves was pure insanity, but I somehow didn't screw it up... this time

Talk about covering the blobs, if you will.

Guessing some sort of car headliner fabric. Maybe filled the large holes on the blobs… Did you have to remove them to cover them? How to get back on?

That's about it. I filled the blob cavities with spray foam then trimmed and sculpted them with a wood rasp. The main mounting cavity I plugged with a cutoff so I could reattach with the original pins. Then I used VHB tape to help keep things in place. I Went with Ozite 4 way stretch carpet with 3M 90. Its a close match in color, but a heavier pile than the headliner.
