Hello from CO

Just put my money down on a 2017 Transit which is currently sitting at Quigley!
I'm picking it up next month, and am excited as ****!!!

My plan is to build it out as an adventure van, bed in the back, bikes underneath, fridge, table/chairs, cabinets... etc.

...did I mention I'm excited as ****!!!

I received my Quigley van two weeks ago...I know the excitement! Floor insulation is nearly done bed brackets in progress...Bed should be in this weekend. Buying one that was built saved you a lot of waiting. It took us 5.5 months from order to delivery.

WELCOME from an ex Coloradan!
I lived up in Fairplay for a while, the real South Park.

With you and SpringsYeti and the other CO guys, we should plan some sort of Moab Meetup or something!

I LOVE Moab!

We spent about a month in a camper (mini) van in NZ last year with our bikes in the top, which proved my assertion that we can live out of a van for a while!

We didn't have AC in the van, but NZ in Feb wasn't bad... wondering how many people decide to go AC, and really use it - but back to Moab... I'd think I'd want AC for the summer in Moab. I car camped out there years ago in summer and it was a lit rough.

do you guys have rear AC and use it?

I built a van for someone that already had rear AC on top, they have only used it a few times. Being a power hog is the main reason. My solution to hot camping is bug screens on the open slider and rear doors. I've only been a few places where is doesn't cool down enough to sleep well at night; mainly Death Valley where it dipped to the low 90's overnight. For most of the USA, just a roof vent is enough. Unless people are hyper sensitive to temps, like my life accomplice, who has a tolerable range of 68-72 degrees...anything outside that range elicits many complaints.

Congrats! Our Quigley van arrived last Monday. We really should put together a spring mtb meet up in the desert. I know the GJ area well and I know Moab well.

We're game! We love Fruita! The GF hasn't ridden Moab yet, but has done a bit of hiking out that way.

Where are you based?

I haven't ridden Fruita, but some people like it I guess. In what ways is it different than Moab? I'm not much of a one-gear BMX style rider, I prefer long rides on less technical trails.

Congrats on the van! We are in CO Springs (don't judge). Lol. We are always down for a trip to Moab or Fruita. They have built some nice trails recently in Moab but Fruita gives them a run for the money and you aren't dealing with jeeps or as many motos. Now if you haven't ridden Crested Butte... then that would be the ticket!
