Also, the dealership did an admirable job of preparing the van prior to delivery: they spent a full day inspecting the 4WD and other systems and half a day detailing the vehicle (even the engine!). Getting a van that is fully operational and in pristine condition is a pretty amazing feeling. Kudos to Capital Ford.
I think you left out the timeline segment between the order and the factory build. What was the total duration for a custom ordered Quigley? Thanks and congrats. (more pictures!)

I ordered a 2017 in May when they were still building 2016's. I believe they started building 2017's (fleet orders) the first week of August. My van was built on August 30 (pretty good, but like all the other waiting periods seemed to take forever!). I will update this thread with performance details regarding the 4WD as soon as we get a major snow storm. I will be able to compare to the Explorer with factory 4WD that I traded in. All I know at this point is that the van shifts effortlessly and instantaneously into 4WD. For the low setting you have to slow down to a crawl (<5 mph) whereas you can shift into high at speeds from 0-50 mph.

Paul...
I am so happy to hear that. Someone else mentioned a difference in steering feel on a Quadvan from the west coast citing a different steering system entirely (albeit all ford parts used), what is your experience …… oh wait I forgot you didn't drive it before the conversion did you? I absolutely love the feel of it with the stock 2wd front end and am hoping I have at least a similar feeling after the conversion. Maybe others that read this can give me a feel for the difference if they owned theirs before 4x4.. I will be driving there and flying home for a few weeks but I am sure I will feel any difference.

Can't really help you with your question regarding any changes in steering feel. I did test drive an unconverted Transit earlier this year, but too long ago to assess any differences. All I can tell you is that I love the steering of my Quigley Transit in both RWD and 4WD modes: responsive, solid, easy.

I remember the last pass I was through was the Beartooth on my bimmer on the way to a summer Redmond rally, and it was packed/icy. I think the ABS on the bike was for sand and gravel on the pavement but it sure helped on the snow!

I have been in discussion with Quigley the last couple of weeks and asked them if it was a problem to not add any decals. They said they could put it on the order sheet not to install them. I want my van to look like a normal cargo van as much as possible.
By the way they are out until June 2017 for 4x4 conversions.

That's great news. The weeks will fly by, NOT! My order really tested my patience, but I would do it all again in a heartbeat. You will not be disappointed by the 4WD system.
