Method Van, Damme Van, Van Diesel, whatever I'm gonna call it, it has arrived.

I've been meaning to post on here but have been busy lurking at other people's diy projects and have been driving around (and working). Recently became the proud owner of a 2016 V6 T-250 LB High Roof with a QuadVan 4wd system. It was a bit of a wait but well worth it. We've got a lot to figure out and plan on attempting to do a bit of it ourselves.

I know that there might be one or two others on this forum who have the QuadVan 4wd going on too and I am curious what they are getting for MPG? We have put on almost 2500 miles in the 3 weeks of ownership and at most are getting 14.8 MPG with the cruise control on. I would not have suspected that the 4WD system would have reduced fuel economy that much. The Interstate has a generous 80 MPH for a speed limit. But still a lot of the HWYs are 55-65 MPH. Also we have been detecting a bit of a hum or vibration from the rear axle area that travels right up on on to the forehead of our van at the 65-75 MPH range. Before and after that speed no humming. Or if you put the gas on in that range the humming will subside. Even tried to load it up with a few hundred pounds over the rear axle, but still hums. Anyone else experience that?

I know that last section was a little long winded for an introduction but it has been on my mind. Looking forward to being apart of the community and learning from everyone and sharing my trials and tribulations.

Greetings. What have you got for tires? I could see tires possibly hurting mileage more than the conversion, itself.

There's 2 or so guys trying to sort vibration/hum, and not having much luck. You musta missed this thread:

EddieZ I posted in their about the humming noise about a week or so ago. Spoke with John at QuadVan as well he advised me on the weight over the rear axles. Tried to a hold of him again but to no avail. Not super stressed about it...yet. As far as the tires go, we're running the factory Hankook 235/65/16C tires. Thought we'd be getting at least 15-16MPGs. Anyway, super impressed/inspired at what I've seen on the forum

Oh, I remember seeing your post in that thread, now.

I'm not a 4WD guy, so don't know how it all works. I assume that running 2WD, you're not really running a lot of spinning parts, since the transfer case would be out of gear. What about new spinning parts in the front end? Just wondering what kind of "loss" there may be. You've got OEM tires. Some extra weight. Higher stance. What else?
