Yes, I've saved the entire post for swivel seat install explaining with photos how the ebrake is lowered. Also read about how trimming the bottom plastic solved an issue.

However, in another thread they specter of not cutting the seat for fear of interfering with electrical components in the 10-way was alluded to and their solution was using washers. In that case I think it was a passenger seat.

So, not sure if the combination of driver seat and 10-way raises some new thing I haven't read about or forgot.

I get nervouser and nervouser the closer it comes to pulling the trigger :0

People keep saying that, but is illegal-I believe- in all states to put a child seat up front.

I think if you only have 2 seats (no other option) and you disable the airbag it is OK.

MDC,

Each State is different, if you don't have back seats some allow if air bag is turned off, others don't , Like CO (no exceptions - sucks to have a vehicle with front seats only). Most have an age and weight requirement for allowing children in front seat, although it is not recommended. OK in CO if over 1 year and 20 lbs.

This is correct, I've installed child restraints at a check and that is what we did.

Refer to Rene's post and page 20/21 of the manual clearly show this is a top tether anchor for a front-facing seat. While not the most ideal position in a cargo it would be the only option (pass side - obviously).

In regards to @USMC Vet 's post there's always some states' law that muck things up. Maine, NH, Mass, NY afaik it is okay, but considered somewhat of a last resort..

assuming we're talking about the swivels 'r us product:

i had that issue too -- the electrical junction for seat wiring hits the mechanism for the red release handle. but if you install the swivel backwards, so the red handle faces the rear of the van, that problem goes away. it's actually easier to use when it's in the back anyway. the downside is that if you do that, you'll now need to open the door while turning the seat around. i don't claim to have sat and figured out the geometries to understand why this is so, but it is. :-) my wife has a 29" inseam, so not having to install spacers was important. as it is, we added a husky floormat and put some fitted scraps of 3/4" plywood underneath to keep her feet in a comfortable position on the floor.

still talking about swivels 'r us: when i called them regarding their swivels, they said the driver and passenger swivels are identical, except that the driver side comes with spacers in order to let it clear the parking brake. if you're planning on lowering the parking brake handle, as has been done by other forum members, there's no need to order their (more expensive) driver side product.

the swivel alone will raise the seat 1.75". (their website used to have two different measurements. don't know if it still does. when i mentioned that, the fellow on the phone put me on hold so he could go and measure. the answer was 1.75") the good news is that if you have the power seats, they already go lower than the cloth seats. so adding the swivel isn't as big a deal as with cloth.

The swivel adapter adds 1.75". The extra washers add 0.5". Total additional height is 2.25".

When the seat is in the lowest possible position regardless of which direction it is facing it is 15.5" from the floor to the top of the seat.
