Picture data limit

Complained again about the data size allotment.

Surprise. They increased it to 100mb. Sometimes it pays to be obnoxious and continue complaining.

Hey, congratulations. Were you honored with a notification -- how did you find out? I guess the site owners are not completely absentee, after all.

I will say this, about working with a data limit: too many people want just upload a photo just as it comes out of the camera or device. THAT is a recipe for running out of data space. You must downsize the photo on your end, before uploading... and, you will be able to make much better use of the available data space. Photos posted here do not need to be 6000 x 4000 pixels. 1024 x whatever is more than enough, and uses about 1/30th of the server space to store.

I complained again and explained that they were losing money by reducing the activity on the site. Did not expect any progress. I did link to my build site to give examples of why pictures are required. Do not know what the previous limit was so do not know how much I helped. Got a return email from Angela B. saying she had a programmer raise the limit to 100mb.

I always save my pictures at 640 pixels in Picasa before posting.

It was previously 10MB. Just thought I'd add the bit about reducing photo size, for anyone reading.

Then I did good. I will still run out but might be enough for some.

That's wonderful. I checked and I now have an additional 90 mb for attachments. Thanks for being persistant.

Excellent!

I am right at 9.99 mb, so have been extra selective in what I post to help out others, now I have breathing room again.

Thanks for your persistence, and thanks so much to Angela B for understanding us!

I suspect the site advertisers might've had something to do with it. When I use tapatalk for the great picture posting interface, I don't get any of the native site ads?

When you post through tapatalk they also store your images there, that doesn't change anything here though.
