use uploaded images in multiple posts?

is there a way to reference an uploaded image "attachment" from multiple posts, such that it appears as a thumbnail in each of them? given the relatively small upload limits, it would sure be handy.

Let's see what this does...

Okay, that's an image I posted a while back.

Go to your User CP, then Attachments. It lists all the photos (or other attachments) you've put here. Right-click on the file name for the one you want, select "Copy Link", then when you compose your message you click the "Insert Image" button and paste in the copied link/URL. Of course it's full-size, not a thumbnail...

Trying another way...

Okay, you don't have to go to the Attachments page - and you can reference other peoples' photos! Hm...

For this I just opened your build thread, clicked on the thumbnail in your first post, then right-clicked on the image while it was opened and selected Copy Link. Came back here and pasted into the Insert Image box.

But, again, it's full-size rather than the little thumbnails...

thanks! i think maybe i hadn't used the "insert image" box before.

testing... .... ah, yes. i think i had tried just the raw URL to the attachment in the past, and all that gets you is a URL in your message. adding the IMG tags gives you a full-size inclusion. good to know. seems like there should some markup that would give you the thumbnail version, but this wilil work fine.

thanks again...
paul

Did you change the data limits? Did you change the size allowed for a PDF file?

Since I used up my data limits I have ceased posting pictures on this site. I also have PDF files that could be useful to users of the site but their file size is larger than this site's PDF file size limitation.

Limits do detract from the usefulness of the site for Transit owners. Suspect you would have more traffic to boost advertising dollars if more information could be posted. We do not even expect to be paid for boosting your income.

agreed -- i'm pretty stingy about what i upload -- the bulk of my photos, which, if i say so myself, are pretty useful, are stored elsewhere. it would be a lot more useful for everyone if we didn't need to worry so much about limits.
