Really. What a pain to have such a long password with numbers, caps, and a character too????? Afraid someone is going to steal some trade secrets or something??

YESSSS -- I've reset my password 3 times in the last day because it keeps giving me issues. Honestly, I've done a LOT of IT work and my bank doesn't have such a crazy password requirement. The problem with making it so complicated is that you then have to make it something easy to remember so the passwords end up looking like F0rdTr@nsit which is less secure than a shorter password not based on common words!

I completely agree 5Gr8tKids! Your username in particular should be secure enough to count for both

Hey all,

I know complex passwords can be a PITA, but there are some ideas around that can help make it easier. Try these:

Choose 4 words with meaning to you that are not related. Capitalize each and change the first and last letter to a special character and a number. $poonOrangeHorseBubbl3
Turn your favourite nursery rhyme or quote into a password using the first letters of each word and switch out the last letters. "(M)ary (H)ad (A) (L)ittle (L)amb (I)ts (F)leece (W)as (W)hite (A)s (S)now". Mhallifww4$
Or use a phrase instead. IDoNot<3This

We can always revisit the requirements at a later date. For the time being however this will be staying as such.

Did not have any problem changing the password.

Not really that difficult and if someone would have a problem it would have been me.

Now if they would give us enough data storage and increase the PDF file size we could help each other a lot more. That would increase the site's use and increase the advertisement income (Hello!).

Actually the opposite is/was true. VerticalScope, the owner of this and many other forums, was hacked in February and over 45 million passwords to over 1,100 forums were stolen.

If your password on this forum is the same as a password ANY WHERE ELSE then a) shame on you and b) other sites you use are in extreme danger of misuse.

Change you password and make it a good one (use non alphanumeric characters). I use a password manager for all my daily web business and only have to remember the passwords for that and a couple of other high-security sites.
