Edit older threads/add stickies.

I don't even know if the mods/admins of this site ever come here, but it would re really nice if we had no time limit on edits.

Some of us have wanted to compile useful information into a single thread with links out to various posts over the site. But you can't edit a post after a certain amount of time. Also it would be good if some of the really frequent posters could be designated mods so they can delete spam and sticky posts.

Funny you mention this because for a while now I've been wondering who's running this place. At first I thought it might be Whitedog or Orton but apparently that's not the case.

Anyway, one thing I've noticed is that virtually all on this Forum are remarkably well behaved, aside from a few jokers...like myself. The most vile forum I've ever encountered? Rate Your Music...or RYM. If you're not a transgender socialist you'd better watch your mouth over there! Outstanding info resource for music, though.

The F-150 forum has a snippy click too. Trolls or dumb questions get jumped on quick.

It seems to me that the most popular threads (like the larger tire one) get added to enough to make them kinda like a sticky...

I'd put a TRUMP bumper sticker on it, but I'm quite certain it would be vandalized.

We are pretty light on mods. Looking into that. Keep any nominations in mind in case we do some recruitment.

And I am part of the admin team here that works for the site owners. There are about a dozen of us that use this account as we pop-in to assist.

As for the edit feature, we like to have a limit just for the sake of continuity. If users are changing what they originally said, or technical info, it can get things pretty confusing. Right now the limit is set to 5 days. I could look into getting that expanded though.

I am certainly not a moderator.

If I had any influence with this site, I would allow pictures and the ability to post PDF drawings. Lack of that ability prevents my helping others with a picture or drawing to answer some build question that I have done and think works. What I have done may not be what someone else wants but it would stimulate further posts on the subject.

Just yesterday I took photos of the 1" wood dowel I made to fix the rear door handle to make door easy to open from inside. Would have been nice to pass along a modification that is quick and easy to do.

My main thing is stickies and the ability to edit first posts. (thread starters) We have a number of threads with a ton of information that you have to wade through to get to an answer. Often it was determined over many months of users sorting it out on their own. Then its on page 15. If the thread starter was able to edit that info into a post at the beginning of the thread that could save a lot of people a lot of time.

I can't really see people editing their original posts to obfuscate anything because what could they possibly be trying to hide of any real importance on a forum about a particular vehicle.

I have given up on trying to get attachments to work in any truly functional way on any vBulletin based forum. I find that even a free dropbox account and liberal use of the "copy public link" option provides a better way to post images.

Here's what I mean, put an image in the folder labels public on your dropbox.

Then use the post link button in vB:
