I wonder if it is worth putting a bead of silicone over the top edge of the molding?

Ouch.

Ford said they're using a new process to produce more durable paint. Guess we'll see how it hold up.

Unfortunately, they're apparently only using that process on the white-painted models. And they still need to do something about leaks, period.

Medium roofs as U-Hauls?

That's pretty cool. Were they MWB or LWB?

The water leaks I was referring to was the clearance lamps on the roof which leak on to the headliner, then to the dome light, lower part of the windshield, wheel well seams, rain gutter into the back doors.......... rocker panels..........

Yes, the pro-master is the leaker

The redesign for the 2015 ducato was to address the windshield cowl leaks, don't know if it was caried over to the mexican built promaster

I still don't get why the ProMasters need those ugly clearance lamps that can leak when SRW Transits that are just as wide get away without them. Ducatos look much cleaner without the lights, not that any van is great looking anyway. I just don't like those lights because they stand out -- like the afterthought they are.

Two on other side of freeway going opposite direction on flatbed trailer. Either medium or high roof and 148" WB.

I have yet to see a 130" WB Transit anywhere.

2015 high roof 148" WB 3.5 Ecoboost 3.31 LS rear cargo.

May rent a pro-master just because I "bash" them so much, so I can say "yes, they are a total piece of SH*T)
owners of pro-masters are now reporting water in the interior and with salt on the roads, it wount be long before they are rusting like the sprinters they replaced
Care to elaborate why you bash them? I'm honestly interested in your opinion, particularly since you haven't driven one.

I'm going to look at renting one myself, although I expect our evaluations based on extended test drive may differ considerably. As objective as we may both be, it's hard to overcome preconceptions. Basically if you think it's sh-t that's what you'll likely find. And the opposite is also true.

The Transit van with water in it was at the local dealer. It was a high roof 148" WB cargo van. Water was in the lower body on right side between the end of the sliding door and the right rear wheel well. About 1/2" deep. The plastic stripe molding is held on by plastic fasteners pushed into holes. Sprinters have the same problem so some have put sealant on the fasteners/holes on the inside and some put the sealant on fastener outside before snapping on the plastic molding.

2015 high roof 148" WB 3.5 Ecoboost 3.31 LS rear cargo.
