Years 5 - 20 are the risk. No way I can justify a $40K vehicle based on 5 years of use, even assuming I could sell/trade it off at 5 years for half it's original price. For the 2000 miles/yr I typical drive the handicap van, that works out to at least $2/mile for depreciation alone. Add another $1.50 for interest, insurance, and fuel. At some point I might as well carry my wife the 4 miles to her doctors or the hospital. I'd save more than I'd make at my job. Handicap taxis are no solution either at about $100 a ride.
Been planning a conversion for nearly a year now. Grew to really, really love the Sprinter. Love is blind, as I reluctantly see now. Was gonna pull the trigger on a $56k THIS week!
My due diligence review, however, caused me to reread a post I saw at the beginning of this and it stopped me DEAD in my tracks.
Everything that was so unbelievably great about the Sprinter, including the MPG record I found to be true. Spoke with a ton of Expediters too. My love of the Sprinter helped me to deny the things they were saying: Sprinters after 08 are trouble.
I really, really, really hope your lease goes well. But, it might be a plan if it was let go before it reaches the 100k mark.

I am new to this forum, haven't bumped into the link above on it yet, gotta be here, but incase it is not I have listed it. Not trying to bad mouth anybody but I just couldn't afford $56k investment with what looks like be a real risk demo'd by others experiences.
