Looks like the paint is really thin in certain places, could this be because of the mettalic paint, anybody with a single stage paint experience the same defects?

Has anyone with a white Transit noticed this chipping? Are certain colors more prone to chipping? It wouldn't be the first time a bad batch of paint was applied.

I have the Green Gem metallic paint and also have 3 or 4 chipped spots. The door does not seem to be misaligned, however.

I'm wondering if this is happening during assembly, before the doors are adjusted, since most of you are reporting that they don't appear to hit.

Any chance the van is flexing when being driven causing the door to hit the body?

Maybe try putting pieces of masking tape at the chip area. After driving for a week check for scuff marks.

I have the 4 small chips on door. I see absolutely no scratches or chips on body. One chip is in front where it is impossible for it to hit anything. I think it is because it is such a hard edge that the chipping is easy and the slightest provocation, such as build or ship or whatever is causing it. At least in my case.

When I checked the dealer stock, the first van that I noticed on the lot to have been touched up was white. If I remember correctly, two white and one grey metallic (like mine) had chips. I have an appointment today at 11...it'll be a day or two until I can post the results. Busy with work

Sliding side door

I have this issue on the sliding side door. Chips were right down to bare metal, and not small. They did realign the door at the dealer, and touch up the paint (not well, but they did it).
I've got to say, quality control on this vehicle needs improvement. My list of problems is growing....
