This started yesterday. When I put the vehicle in reverse I get the notification "Rear Park Aid Disabled, Trailer Attached". However there is no trailer attached. The rear camera works, but the green/yellow/red park assist lines are not showing up. Anyone run into this and found a fix?
I don't find any information in the owner's manual about a reset or about this message, unfortunately. I thought maybe one of the kids pushed the "parking aid button" on the dash and turned it off, but that's not it either.

Did you splice anything into the rear wiring or plugs in the back? If you did, the system senses a current draw and figures there is a trailer hooked up.
I haven't spliced anything. I'll check for a loose wire today. Haven't even hooked up a trailer since picking it up new from the factory a couple months ago.
Interesting link, thanks. I need to check this today as well. I had a fleeting thought a couple days ago that one of the blinkers was going awfully fast.
Happy to report that I have fixed this issue on my van!
My brother who is a heavy equipment mechanic just received an email about ford fleet vehicles with this error. There is a pass through connector on the trailer hitch that you plug trailer lights into. On the back side of that connector, the harness attaches to the connector. This connector has a black plastic boot on it that gets filled up with water, leaves, etc and arcs the terminals fooling the computer into thinking a trailer is attached.
Remove the harness, clean it out and dry it. Problem solved.
You will likely have to disconnect the battery to fully complete the job (I had to).
Hope this helps somebody save the $775 the dealer wanted to diagnose my issue.
@GuidedWaveAudio: this fixed mine today too. Battery disconnect was key. Great tip, thanks!
