Yes, Yes I know pictures. When I got home yesterday I felt really yucky a badly upset stomach. I went to bed. I was jarred awake at 1:05 AM by at first a light earthquake shock followed by a larger shock. This morning I learned the 5.2 quake epicenter was about 85 miles northeast of me near Borrego Springs. Anyway I took some pictures today once the sun got around to illuminate things under the hood.

Well I do not know what to tell you but the system tells me these are not valid image files. I took a screen capture of the page telling me this but it too is not a valid image file?

greg-92083,

Went to the Ford parts sight to see if they had images. Those part numbers are there, but no pictures, bummer. Not expensive parts either.

I had the same issue on another thread a little while ago, so ended up uploading it to my website and putting in the link.

Looking at it today I think it is just a new top?
I believe I detect the original bottom still there?

Haha!!! This air cleaner nightmare is so profound we can't even get a picture of the fix!! Oh, the irony...

I had water getting in at the very back of mine and getting the little filter damp. The water comes in from a compromised seal between the bottom of the windshield and the cowl, about 6 inches or so to the left of the passenger windshield wiper.

Anyway, I modified a shallow plastic pan to cover it and have determined that it works just fine keeping the drops off the box. I'll likely leave it like this, unless Ford coughs up a new cover for free.

Hmmm, I wonder if the recall covers all Transits from the get go or only those older ones that had the hose drain thing instead of the gutter, like that last little "fix".

I'd put a TRUMP bumper sticker on it, but I'm quite certain it would be vandalized.

Do you have a part number for the new airbox lid?

I had my transit in this week for some warranty work. Asked them to perform this recall.

They said "This is a warranty not a recal. We'll only do the work if something goes wrong."

me: "So if water is leaking into the air box and making the filter wet?"

them: "not even that. Like if the engine is running poorly or won't start"

what the ****?

Update: so I just called a different dealer and told them the story and had them look up this same vin / recall notice. they said "they lied to you" hahaha

What year model/build date were the ones who already received a recall for this?
