Hi
I have a T350 Passenger Van, 3.7l, Midroof, LWB. First registered in 9/15 and 34.000mls on the clock.

The good:
It is nice to look at it if it is around ( see the "bad")
It drives nice when I have it available ( see the "bad")
It looks good.
The rear doors open wide and access is easy.
Engine is strong
Great brakes ( no issues)
Very agile, good handling



The bad:
- It sucks gas. 15mpg
- Seats suck, I am 6ft, 200lbs and I just fit the driver seat. The rear passenger seats are very uncomfortable and in my opinion for up to 10 year old children only and useless. I would be torture to travel with more than 6 grown ups in this 10 seat van.
- Loud (drive train noise, bad wind noise over 65 mph)

In 2015 :
The van spent 1 week and than 3 weeks in the workshop for AC issues and computer programming. The main issue was that the workshop had nobody (Ford Experts) who ever worked on a Transit and to replace the evaporator, half the car must be dismantled.
The van lock itself randomly.



In 2016 :
It took one week to install a Tow Hitch electrical kit by Ford Experts.
-Window noise was a huge issue and could not be fixed by Ford Experts. 3 attempts lead to nothing and Ford Central Service told me that I have to live with it. I sounded like a window which is cracked slightly open (both sides). I fixed it with insulation tape from home depot which I taped on top of the excising seal to increase sealing pressure. I have to replace the tape every four to six weeks to keep the seal strong.

- My biggest issue is that FORD has no spare part support for this van. This van is since Dec 1st 2016 (since 21 days) in the workshop with the Ford Experts. The spare part is promised to arrive on Jan 8th 2017 and than to be installed!.
This is what happened: During a tire rotation my tire people told me that the rear axle is leaking oil on the driver side. The earliest appointment available with the Ford Experts was 2 weeks later on December 1st 2016. They replaced the axle housing seal and returned the van. 40 miles later the rear axle was making so loud noises that we had to stop and found the rear wheel hot and full of oil. We limped back to the workshop. Since than the van is in the shop waiting for a rear axle housing. I had a chance to inspect the dismantled axle and for me it looks like that there was no oil in the axle or it lost the oil in a huge leak quickly. The axle ran without oil and got so hot that there were heat colors visible on the steel hub (red and cobalt blue)

The good thing is that nothing more can brake in 2016 since the van is now the caring hands of Ford Experts until the beginning of January.Conclusion for 16 months of ownership.
- The T350 is a great van if you do not need a van to transport stuff since your courtesy vehicle is mostly a Ford Fiesta.
- Ford has no critical parts support and just lets you wait for 1.5 months !!!!!!!!!!!!! This is most troubling since I believe this in not only valid for a Transit
- Ford lets you down completely if there is a design issue the dealership can not fix. (wind noise issue) Nobody cares.
- Talking to Ford Customer service is like talking to a psychologist. They apologize for everything, can not help you at all and try to make you feel better about their flawed design or their incapable Ford Experts.


Final conclusion:
DO NOT BUY A TRANSIT. Get a MB Sprinter. What ever it costs more it is worth it. I am so far that I never will buy a FORD again. I kick my but every day!!

Wow so sorry you have had such a bad experience. Sounds possibly like your dealer could be part of, or most of the problem too. Did you have another dealer to try?

I don't understand what you are complaining about, cobalt blue is a very good looking color.
Seriously though, almost all of the problems with your axle and your wait times you have described has to do with your dealer, not the van. If the dealer told me it would take weeks to fix something minor I would have looked for a different dealer right away.

2016 Transit van- MR 148", 3.2l, 3.73 LS, Green Gem, with every option.

Full size vans SUCK. But are still better suited for their intended purposes than minivans or pickups. I'm hating the 16mpg over the 24mpg I got with my old Sprinter. I'm hating having to slam the slider to get it to shut (nothing dealer or their body shop can do to make it better, evidently). ANY vehicle will be expensive to repair at a DEALERSHIP after warranty, 4x the cost of a private shop, that's why I would NEVER take a vehicle out of warranty to a dealership for repairs. Still better on the wallet than a new Sprinter or Promaster in the long run.

Yes I did go to a different deal with my wind noise issue. But not much better luck! This van is still under warranty. The problem is that as customer you are not aware of the duration before you are already sucked in to it. You bring the van in because the AC is not cooling. The dealer is doing something and you get the van back. After one day you bring it in again since the issue is not fixed. They start to investigate and 3 weeks later you get your van back. You can not just get the dismantled van back from the dealer if you are not happy and bring it to somebody else who is not much better.
In regards to the axle issue it started with a leaking seal. I could have replaced the seal myself and would be a happy chap right now. But since it was a warranty issue I brought it in. You are not in control what happens next! Did they fill oil up? Did they damage the new seal during installation? Where do you go with a smoking rear axle if you are 3 miles from your dealership or 30 miles to the next one? You bring it back to place who did the repair the first time. Who knows that there is no rear axle housing for the Ford Transit in the United States and that the Ford does not care to stock certain parts? I do not hate Ford. I am just frustrated and want to share my experience.

I feel your pain, but I have found out a secret to wind noise:

put the window almost up and pull it hard away from the top in the direction it leaks. It's scary, but it works. And even if you took it apart, without replacing every part, you cannot do a better fix for it. Keep an eye out for the kids playing and pulling on the windows.

Update: 12/29/2017

After the T350 spent the Christmas Holidays at the dealership I got a call from the dealer with good and really bad news. The good news were that the spare part did arrive on 12/ 29th but unfortunately it was so badly damaged ( as in " If fell of the truck") that the dealer had to order a new part.

Update: 01/03/2017

Another spare for the spare arrived at the dealership. Unfortunately the guy who put everything apart quit ( got fired?) and the dealership is struggling to put it together again. This should not be rocket science.
Lets see. The saga goes on. In the meantime I got a Transit Van as a rental paid by Ford. At least I am in business again.
