It's been a year already!

My Transit 250 went into service July 2014, and this has been a great year with my van. I have done hauls that used to require a box truck, and I think this was a great investment for my business. After 15K miles, I think I am used to the way it drives and handles. The 3.7L isn't a speed demon, but I haven't found it lacking for power even when the van is above 9000 lbs. The rev-happy nature of the motor means that 3rd gear is useful from 25-85 mph, which makes it very flexible. So far the only service has been an oil change at 7200 miles, that's it! Averaging 14.9 mpg. Time will tell how it holds up. My only gripes have been the cargo light switch and 3rd gear is a SMIDGE tall. That's really all I can think of.

Another one year review. A year and 15,000 miles on the van with north of 9000lbs weight, but nothing on roof and no towing. I am an hvac tech.
First is mileage. The full year came in at 14.535mpg, with my best running average (4 consecutive tankfuls) at 16.06 and the worst,13.06. Those extremes were, of course, best in summer, with worst in winter. Fuel savings for the year over my former van, a 350E cube van, are close to $1000.
The air filter I wrapped (water prevention) just now, but it did not look bad at all. No big deal.
My maintenance costs for the year totaled $46.85. Now isn't that neat! The beauty of new vehicles! With the purchase the dealer gave first oil change free and free state safety inspections for life. (Yea, I know thats a ploy to get more business in the shop.)
On their inspection report they listed front brakes as 12B, and rears 10B. Is that a measurement of pad thickness remaining? If so, what is "B" and what were they new?
Overall, very happy with the rig. Never dreamed I'd have a work van that drives like a car, both in speed and handling. Only a tiny scratch or two yet, and a tiny dinge.

B is good. When they start using the RCH scale you need pads yesterday.

This is good to hear. I'm an independent forklift co. and just purchased one and put into service for a mechanic I hired. We do all forklift repairs and service on site. It's our mobile work shop. Van will have about 3-4000lbs in it all the time. My mechanic seems to love it. Will run it for about a year then I think I'm gonna move into one.

I've had mine a year this week as well. Only about 7k miles, but no problems other than my pop out window issues which are being fixed under warranty. Super happy with the van.
