Pics of my window vent shades

Just wanted to show the vent shades I got on Amazon
They let me keep the windows down about 2 inches or so
My Maxxair fan is able to pull in fresh air and vent out warm air
I keep the fan set on automatic
It will come on automatically if the temp in the van reaches 78 degrees F
The fan is running off my AGM house battery
I have 200 watts of solar on the roof to keep the battery charged up properly

The vent shades I got fit nicely on my 2015 medium roof van.
The peel off adhesive backing is the tough hard rubber type
It's very dense and the adhesive is stuck down firm to the door
I gave them a big tug the other day and they are stuck down really well

Here's the Amazon link in case anyone has been wanting some of these

How about a shot from the front where we can see both? (the profile). No rush or necessity.
No worries EL
Not much to see from the front showing both at once
I took a side shot of just the drivers side as a bonus

Well... Hope yours hang on better than mine did...! :/

I ordered them with my van. They look nice, worked great - but the adhesive strips failed on both in short order! The drivers side one came loose first, falling off while driving down the road just a few months after I got the van. The passenger side one began working itself loose last fall and I pulled it off manually.

Both sides still had a fair amount of sticky-tape residue on them in spots, so it would seem the doors were prepped at least reasonably well when applied. Not sure why they gave up but a few others on the forum had similar results...

So far so good
The adhesive strips on mine are really nice
I prepped the painted surfaces with denatured alcohol and made sure there was no wax residue, etc

I'll just keep an eye on them
I bought a roll of this really nice double stick adhesive on amazon
If they ever start to come loose, I'll just re-stick them on

Check this stuff out on Amazon

I apologized for putting you through making the photo, but it (photo) reminded me of the thorough wind tunnel process in the latest MK8 design. I guess I'm not from your neck of the woods. Speaking of another classic movie (in my mind) was Jeff Bridges Starman … "you ain't from around here are ya?"

I am amazed at all the stuff you have done to your van since your first video. I have a big box of Rattletrap waiting. The weather had encouraged me but it dropped below freezing again and actually had to turn on the home furnace. I'm not "knocking on heaven's door" yet but I got to get going on this.

El, Thanks for the pics. Do you think it increases wind noise when windows are closed?

Honestly, I forget they are on the van when driving it
So I guess that is a good thing

Where I go, I don't get much over 50 mph, so I don't know if that makes any difference

I do remember they are on the van when parked because I keep both front windows down 2-3 inches so my maxxair fan can come on automatically and pull in fresh air

Glad you like them - I have a pair in my garage waiting for the rain to stop so I can install them.

I bet if anything they make the wind noise a little less as they cover the recessed glass of the window a bit.

What side window covers do you have, are those home made?

I think you are asking about the silver covers inside?

I made Reflectix covers for all 5 windows in my van
Small rare earth magnets hold them in place on the two side windows and two rear windows

The windshield covers are two pieces
They have small fiberglass battens in them to keep them rigid

Good timing

I was looking for these and you made them appear. Could not do a search, because I did not know what they were called. THANKS a million!
