Video of my Transit RV conversion

This is the first video of my simple RV conversion

I'll have more as I make progress

Here's the YouTube link for video #1
It's filmed in 1280p so you can watch full screen

Youtube says that mobile device users will not be able to see all the notes I added to the video
Just a heads up that I added a bunch of notes during the video to explain things

Notes added to the video like correcting the dimensions of the frost king insulation
It's 12 inches wide time 15 feet long roll

Love the Grace shield idea I have to buy a literal ton of that stuff next year anyway. Are you gonna remove those sill plates again before you tack down the carpet? Any chance of a DIY primer on how you removed the headliner? Thanks dude gotta love the doggy pedestal too!
BTW does everyone have my identical van or what?

Curious about the bituthene... how long of an outgassing spell did it have? What about once in very hot climate?

Great video, thanks for posting. keep up the good work.

I noticed the foam blocks in the roof corners are gone. Did you remove them or were they gone when you bought the van. It doesn't look like they do a dam thing in a cargo van. I want to remove mine.

Thanks,
The sill plates come off on go back on easy with a few screws
The side door sill plate also has a couple of those push in plastic retainers on top.

I had the carpet installed and then took it back out to keep it clean
So, yes, I will remove the sill plates and install the carpet again when the time comes
I am not gluing it down, the carpet is the full size of the floor and stays in place nicely without any hardware
The sill plates hold it down on the side and back
I may install a threshold type device at the front to keep from catching the carpet with your toes

Yes, I did remove them
The foam blocks pop straight out
There are a couple of those push in plastic retainers holding the blocks in place

I stick a couple long screw drivers up behind the block right next to the retainers and then pull

Once you remove the foam blocks, the side curtain air bags will be visible
And you are looking down inside the headliner above the doors
It's a vast empty space

I'll try and take a video of that along with some tips on removing the headliner

Don't know about any of that?
I just installed it this week

It does not get that hot here in the mountains of western, NC

I am not too worried about gassing in the van
It's easy to keep the van aired out with the side and back doors open
It will be a while until I take the van out and I have been leaving the doors open all day

When it's finally go time, the Maxair fan set on a low speed should be able to keep fresh air moving through the van
The fan has 10 speeds

Grace has documents available on their web site here

Not sure if you know this or not but if you put your empty 1lb bottles in the freezer overnight and then fill them, you'll get almost a full pound in them when you fill from a 20lb tank.

Thanks, yes, I know that trick
But you don't get the bottles as full as if you relieve the pressure with the small pressure relief valve
You do have to be careful if you fill them up and them subject them to high heat
You need to have some expansion room inside

Check this video out at around the 7 minute mark to see the 3 refill methods
